The prisoners were led to the prison of Montluc before being transferred to extermination camps.

The cells of the three floors, initially conceived to host one convict at a time, came to contain at least eight prisoners. As an inmate managed to escape using only pieces of his bedding, the directors only allowed a bed sheet and some kitchen tools.

Klaus Barbie served his life sentence in this prison as a symbolic gesture against his actions.
