This film is about the country life of a washerwoman from Romagna, whose life is completely devastated by the war and the subsequent arrest of her husband by the Germans. In order to survive, she enlists in the partisan resistance as a courier, becoming a reference point for everyone. The woman’s death marks the end of the film.
